One of the great things about blogging is that you can blog about whatever you want. Case in point, if you were thinking that my very first blog post would be about pest control, or insects, well you would be incorrect. I could blog about current events or world issues, but nope, don't really want to do that either. Instead, I thought I'd start out with one of my guilty pleasures in life...Walt Disney World!
Before you go, "dude, what..." here me out.
Like many people, I first visited Disney World as a kid. I remember it being cool and all, but I don't remember feeling the appreciation and admiration that I felt when I visited as a father of 3 about seven years ago. We went with my wife's family, booked a vacation rental for the week, and got us all week-long Disney passes. We had the time of our lives!
It was after that trip that I started to study and learn about Walt Disney the man because I wanted to know the story behind all the magic. I like history and the story of Disney is full of it. But more importantly, it's a story full of inspiration, imagination, failure, perseverance, redemption, and achievement. To understand where the inspiration started is to understand where my love of Disney came from.
The concept for Disneyland began when Walt Disney was visiting Griffith Park in Los Angeles with his daughters Diane and Sharon. While watching them ride the merry-go-round, he came up with the idea of a place where adults and their children could go and have fun together. That simple idea, one of families being able to enjoy time together, was the start of something magical. When I decided to start my pest business, my first priority was to establish a culture where family comes first, hence the name, Family First Pest Control.
Not only did I want to provide for my family, I wanted to create a program that provides other families an affordable service that allows them to dedicate more of their precious time and resources to other things, like valuable family time. I don't want to have the biggest pest control company in town. I want to have the best, most family oriented company. I want each one of my customers to know they are appreciated not by a company, but by a family man who truly values their trust and their confidence in my ability to provide a super service.
